BIOGRAPHY: As a native Memphis, I am proud to work for ALSAC/ St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in my beloved hometown as a Marketing strategist. Prior to joining the non-profit world, I attended Clemson University where I studied International Business, served as President of my sorority (TriDelta), and watched lots of football (though we were NOT a Championship team at that point). The first ten plus years of my career were spent in hospitality sales and marketing roles. I learned the ropes of the industry mostly in hotels but also had the honor of working for the Memphis CVB along the way. Learning new markets and selling distinct experiences to customers was exciting and challenging.
DESCRIPTION OF WHAT YOU DO: Direct marketing strategy for ALSAC’s Under $500 one-time giving donors; fundraising strategy; multichannel marketing; strategic planning and implementation; data analysis; project management
WHAT IS YOUR BEST ELEVATOR PITCH: I am a marketing strategist, a data analyst, a project manager and a fundraising enthusiast. Let’s connect on how you might want to partner with St. Jude and/ or how we can make Memphis shine.
WHAT IS YOUR WHY FOR WHAT YOU DO: I work because I like to have a purpose outside of my personal life. I love marketing strategy and implementation that creates measurable results. Currently, my work drives revenue that helps children impacted by cancer and other deadly diseases – there’s really no better WHY than that!
WHAT SETS YOU APART FROM OTHER PEOPLE IN YOUR INDUSTRY: I would not say others in my industry do not have this BUT I will say that my work ethic is my strongest asset. I may not be the smartest person in the room but I will work my butt off to understand, to learn, to be of use, and to get the work done.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE PART OF BEING A MEMBER OF LINK: Meeting new women who are passionate about their work, their families, and their friendships!
WHAT DO YOU HOPE TO GIVE OR RECEIVE AS A MEMBER OF LINK: Friendship, business contacts, professional referrals
WHAT IS THE BEST BUSINESS ADVICE YOU WOULD GIVE TODAY TO YOUR YOUNGER SELF: Do not let your focus on today keep you from preparing yourself for tomorrow. Make your continued education, training, networking, and personal life top priorities always.
WHO WOULD BE INVITED TO YOUR DREAM DINNER PARTY AND WHY: Oprah, plus my mom, sisters, and best friends. I would love to hear more about the development of her career, businesses and personal brand. I would also like my closest ladies to be present so that we can learn, listen and laugh together.
WHAT IS SOMETHING THAT PEOPLE WOULD BE SURPRISED TO LEARN ABOUT YOU: I am actually more of an introvert than an extrovert. I have to work at making myself ‘get out there’ because I would actually prefer to have alone time or to be with my closest family and friends.
